170 new cases for coronavirus test positive on August 4, district tally increases to 4970

Udupi : As many as One Hundred and Seventy new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Tuesday, August 4, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 4970
According to the district health bulletin, as many as 1193 persons are currently in home quarantine. A total of 341 people are in isolation wards including 53 fresh admissions on Tuesday. Among the new admissions in isolation wards there is 18 Coronavirus suspect; 12 have Severe Acute Respiratory System (SARI) and 23 are influenza like illness (ILI). As many as 1723 people, including 22 on Tuesday have been released from Isolation wards so far.
A total of 36,200 samples have been collected so far including 1700 on Tuesday, out of which 1195 are covid suspects and 250 are covid contacts, 12 are SARI, 70 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 173.
A total of 30,526 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1352 on Tuesday and 704 reports are awaited.
As many as 4800 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 170 on Tuesday, August 4.
As many as 2948 patients have been discharged so far, including 136 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals today. 1980 cases are currently active. Forty Two COVID=19 deaths have occurred so far in the district. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada district.
