Udupi : As many as One Hundred and Seventy Three new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Wednesday, August 5, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 5143.

According to the district health bulletin, among 173 covid positive cases, 62 cases reported as symptomatic which 34 are male and 28 are females, meanwhile out of 111 cases of asymptomatic, 65 are males and 46 are females. The sources of infection are contacts 46, Influenza like illness (ILI) 73, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARU) nil, Under Investigation 51, Domestic Traveller nil, total 173.Among 173 positive cases, from Udupi 76, from Kundapura 57, from Karkala taluk 39 and out of district one.

Places of admissions on August 5 are : Out of 173 cases, 2 in COVID care Centre , 69 in designated COVID Hospital, 34 in designated COVID Health Hospital and 68 in Home Isolation.

A total of 38,053 samples have been collected so far including 1853 on Wednesday, out of which 1272 are covid suspects and 311 are covid contacts, 5 are SARI, 37 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 228.

 A  total of 31,770 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1244 on Wednesday and 1140 reports are awaited.

As many as 5143 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 173 on Wednesday, August 5.

As many as 3073 patients have been discharged so far, including 124 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals today. Out of 124 discharges, 73 are from Covid Hospitals and 51 from Home Isolation.

 2027 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 956 and in home are 1071.

 Forty Four COVID=19 deaths have occurred so far in the district, including two deaths on August 5. 72 year old male died due to Septic Shock, Myocarditis, Pueumonia with Acute Respiratory Disorder Sydrome, severe Thrombocytopenia ad Type 2-Diabetes while 55 year female died due to Septic Shock with Acute Respiratory Disorder Syndrome, Diabetes Mellitus. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada district.
