A old aged woman jumped into the well in a house opposite the Ayyappa Swamy Temple at Kukkikatte in the city’s outer zone which Udupi City Police Station Police Sub-inspector Sadashiva Gavaroji along with others rescued the old aged woman.

Sharada (67), a resident of Kukkikatte, who was upset over something with her family, jumped into the well of her house. Auto driver Rajesha Nayak, who was nearby, heard a noise in the well and immediately went to see it. Rajesh saw the woman drowning in the well and had descended into the well with the help of a rope. Sharada, who was drowning in the water, grabbed the rope fitted to the motor pump and tried to protect himself. Rajesh was unable to lift woman Sharada from the well, same time Udupi PSI who was on patrol in Hoysala vehicle got the information regarding the incident and rushed to help to save a old aged woman.

Aware of the situation at the scene, PSI with his duty uniform along with local auto driver Rajesh Nayak and Vinayak firefighter able to lift the woman from the well. She is keeping healthy.
