Udupi, August 7, 2020: Script-less Konkani language has been attempted to find a meaningful script by Ronan Lewis, a 12 year old 8th Std student of Kannarpady, St. Marys School, Udupi District.
Ronon Lewis during this lock down time tried to find a meaningful new script for Konkani. By making use of the modern day technology (Computer), he has gone through various national and international languages before scripting letters for Konkani Language.
In an press conference Ronon’s father Roshan Lewis shared the details to the press. Ronan was present during the press meet.
According to Roshan, Ronan has taken the alphabets from Portugese, Hebru, Thailandy, Afrecan, Arabic, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Eng, Hindi, Kannada, Tulu etc languages. He had started this project in Feb 2019 till July 2020. Ronan has calculated more than 600 alphabets from the above various languages and sorted to 49 (Swara, Vyangana and Anunasica) and expecting help and guidance from Konkani academy for further research in this.
