Udupi : As many as Two Hundred and Forty Five new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Friday, August 7, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 5605.

According to the district health bulletin, among 245 covid positive cases, 70 cases reported as symptomatic which 44 are male and 26 are females, meanwhile out of 175 cases of asymptomatic, 81 are males and 94 are females. The sources of infection are contacts 91, Influenza like illness (ILI) 57, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) 5, Under Investigation 86, Domestic Traveller 5 and international traveler one, totals 245. Among 245 positive cases, positives cases from Udupi 125, from Kundapura 82, from Karkala taluk 25 and out of district three.

Places of admissions on August 7 are : Out of 245 positive cases, 15 in COVID care Centre , 120 in designated COVID Hospital, 21 in designated COVID Health Hospital and 89 in Home Isolation. Total admissions for isolation are 3605 including 1485 today.

A total of 41,411 samples have been collected so far including 1357 on Friday, out of which 928 are covid suspects and 241 are covid contacts, 2 are SARI, 44 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 152.

 A  total of 34,603 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1148 on Friday and 1203 reports are awaited.

As many as 5605 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 245 on Friday, August 7.

As many as 3258 patients have been discharged so far, 101 discharged today on August 7, including  57 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals and 44 from Home Isolation. 2292 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1148 and in home are 1144.

Till today Fifty five persons COVID=19 deaths have occurred so far in the district, including five deaths on August 7. One female aged 78 from Udupi, One male aged 49 years from Karkala and three males from Kundapur aged 75, 70 and 65 years old.
