Print Kemmannu, August 15, 2020: 74th Independence Day was celebrated at Kemmannu church. After the mass, celebrated by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Victor D Souza, parishioners joined at the church compound to celebrate the the occasion. Mrs. Veronica Carnelio presided over the function. The day coincides with the Feast Assumption of Mother Mary.
Mrs Veronica Carnelio unfurled the National flag. National anthem was sung and everyone saluted the national flag with great respect. Mrs. Veronica Carnelio delivered the speech appropriate for the occasion. Master Oliver Lawrence D Souza, who took part in the Republic Day Parade in 2018 at Delhi delivered the commands.
Due to Covid-19 situation celebration was restricted to limited number of people and Catholic Sabha has postphoned the ‘Prathibha Puraskar’ ceremony for the students who had excelled in the last academic year. Fr. Herald Periera, catholic sabha members and some parishioners were present during the celebration.

It is always a pleasure to see our Church celebrating both Mother Mary feast and Independence Day celebrations. Have been missing the Ther parba (in tulu). May the Lord and the Mother continue to bless all of us with a blissful life.  Agree[4]
