Udupi :Two hundred and seventy new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Monday, August 17, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 8245.

According to the district health bulletin, among 270 covid positive cases, 86 cases reported as symptomatic which 61 are male and 25 are females, meanwhile out of 184 cases of asymptomatic, 110 are males and 74are females. The sources for infection are contacts 114, Influenza like illness (ILI) 62, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) 10, Under Investigation 83, Domestic Traveller one and international traveler is nil.

Among 270 positive cases, where as positives cases from Udupi 107, from Kundapura 141, from Karkala taluk 15 and from out of district are Seven.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 17 are as: Out of 270 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 60 and  210 are in Home Isolation. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated Covid health Hospital 5559 including 60 today. Total Home isolation are 2679 including 210 on today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 8238 including 270 today August 17.

A total of 55,739 samples have been collected so far including 376 on Monday, August 17, out of which 290 are covid suspects, 61 are covid contacts, 5 are SARI, 15 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 5.

 A total of 46,624 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 520 on Monday and 870 reports are pending.

As many as 8245 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 270 on Monday, August 17.

As many as 5630 patients have been discharged so far, including 269 discharged today on August 17, which 85 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals and 184 from Home Isolation. 2537 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1372 and in home are 1165.

Till today Seventy Eight persons COVID=19 deaths have occurred in the district, including one death reported today on August 17. A female from Karkala taluk aged 56 succumbed death today
