Udupi : As many as 421 new cases tested for Coronavirus positive reported on Tuesday, August 18, which taking the total positive cases in the district so far to 8666.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 421 covid positive cases, 142 cases reported as symptomatic which 101 are male and 41 are females, meanwhile out of 279 cases of asymptomatic, 123 are males and 156 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 150, Influenza like illness (ILI) 90, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) 17, Under Investigation 158, Domestic Traveller six and international traveler is nil.

Among 421 positive cases, where as positives cases from Udupi 203, from Kundapura 158, from Karkala taluk 50 and from out of district are Ten.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 18 are as: Out of 421 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are126 and  295 are in Home Isolation. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated Covid health Hospital 5685 including 126 today. Total Home isolation is 2974 including 295 on today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 8659 including 421 today on August 18.

A total of 57,576 samples have been collected so far including 1837 on Tuesday, August 18, out of which 1098 are covid suspects, 327 are covid contacts, 10 are SARI, 48 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 354.

 A total of 47,824 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1200 on Tuesday and 1086 reports are pending.

As many as 8666 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 421 on Tuesday, August 18.

As many as 5951 patients have been discharged so far, including 321 discharged today on August 18, which 177 patients are discharged from Covid hospitals and 144 from Home Isolation. 2637 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1321 and in home are 1316.

Till today Seventy Eight persons COVID=19 deaths have occurred in the district, There is no death reported today on Tuesday, August 18.
