Udupi : As many as 103 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Monday, August 24, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 10,236.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 103 covid positive cases, 28 cases reported as symptomatic which 16 are male and 12 are females, meanwhile out of 103 cases of asymptomatic, 39 are males and 36 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 52, influenza like illness(ILI) 23, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 2, Under investigation 25. Domestic Traveler 1 and international traveler is nil.

Among 103 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 50, from Kundapura 19 and Karkala taluk 26 and from out of district are Eight.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 24 are as : Out of 103 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 31 and Home Isolation are 72. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 6169 including 31 today. Total Home Isolation is 4060 including 72 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 10229 including 103 today on August 24.

A total of 65,306 samples have been collected so far including on Monday, August 24, out of which 209 are covid suspects, 11 are covid contacts, 4 are SARI, 18 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 172.

A total of 54,113 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 684 on Monday and 957 test reports are pending.

As many as 10,236 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 103 on Monday, August 24.

As many as 7557 patients have been discharged so far, including 156 discharged today on Monday, August 24, which 57 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 99 from Home Isolation, 2590 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1034 and in home are 1556.

Till today Eighty Nine persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district, including five on Monday, August 24. Out of five, three females from Karkala taluk aged 85, 85 and 49 where as two males from Udupi taluk aged 75 years and 55 years
