Udupi : As many as 251 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Wednesday, August 26, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 10,704.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 251 covid positive cases, 64 cases reported as symptomatic which 37 are male and 27 are females, meanwhile out of 187 cases of asymptomatic, 85 are males and 102 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 114, influenza like illness(ILI) 45, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 1, Under investigation 90. Domestic Traveler 1 and international traveler is nil.

Among 251 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 110, from Kundapura 81 and Karkala taluk 84 and from out of district are Six.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 26 are as : Out of 251 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 118 and Home Isolation are 133. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 6346 including 118 today. Total Home Isolation is 4351 including 133 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 10697 including 251 today on August 26.

A total of 67,818 samples have been collected so far including on Wednesday, August 26, including 1124 today, out of which 572 are covid suspects, 270 are covid contacts, 8 are SARI, 31 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 243.

A total of 56,383 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1037 on Wednesday and 1037 test reports are pending.

As many as 10,704 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 251 on Wednesday, August 26.

As many as 7983 patients have been discharged so far, including 245 discharged today on Wednesday, August 26, which 99 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 147 from Home Isolation, 2639 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1059 and in home are 1570.

Till today Ninety Two persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district, including one on Wednesday, August 26. A male aged 49 years from Udupi taluk succumbed to death today on August 26.
