Udupi : In Udupi district plenty of corruption taking place by the elected representatives. The illegal sand extraction, corruption in cement deal etc. widely taking place in Udupi district. The sand is available only for close associate of MLA Raghupathy Bhat and illegal sand easily available in DK district which supplied from the Udupi district, alleges by Dakshina Kannada Youth Congress President Mithun Rai.

He spoke prior to the Udupi district Youth Congress executive committee meeting held at Congress Bhavan, Nairkere near here on Wednesday, August 26.

He said Raghupathy Bhat is indulged in illegal sand mining along with his close associates and another MLA Sunil Kumar has looted government treasury by corruption in cement dealing for his house. If Sunil Kumar needs the cement, the congress workers from DK district ready to give him. Both the elected representatives of the government looting the government treasury by corruption, he said.

He said he never entered in politics for making the money. His parents are well educated and indulged in medical practice, He owning several business including the hotel and restaurants. He does not have any intention to make money in political field.

Mithun Rai said power is not permanent. Today Congress party may in dark, but near future it will come in the light. Failures are not permanent one and it is not end of life. It is a beginning of success as well. Under the leadership of D K Shivakumar, Congress in the state will come and we will make sure the district BJP-free in the forthcoming elections, he said.

Speaking in relate to corruption in medical materials purchase in pandemic, he said the state government indulged massive corruption during the coronavirus pandemic. BJP government instead of providing massive support for the people, BJP government made ample profit during the pandemic by looting the treasury with making a profit themselves. But, Youth Congress supported scores of people by helping in various ways during the pandemic. DK Shivakumar donated Rs 1 crore to the KSRTC, so that they arrange for the transportation services for the migrants. Actually, the state government donated has actually been donated by NGOs, temples, charities, churches, masjids etc, Rai asked the BJP not to loot the state treasury, he said.

Mithun Rai said that Congress party is treating all religions equally and party respects the traditions of all the religious beliefs. It is the only secular party where every religion is treated equally. Congress party also considers Cow as holy. I have more than 36 cows. Those so-called Gau Rakshaks who talk about the protection of cows, let them first donate and give cows for those who need, he said.

Speaking after the inauguration of the occasion, Indian Youth Congtress Secretary Vidya Balakrishna said that due to coronavirus pandemic, the district youth congress workers indulged in massive help for the needy by many ways. She said, she must give gratitude for them for their services. Instead of helping the people during the pandemic, BJP had made profit by indulging in corruption in purchase of medical equipments purchase and other way.

She criticized the Union government very hardly that BJP had made several promises, but not fulfilled any of them. They are trying to make violence in people by dividing the societies. They try to divide by bringing in NRC and other means. BJP controlled the media with their hands, they also control the democratic system of the constitution and control the constitutional organizations like ED, EC, RBI, CBI and other agencies along with the judicial system also, she said.
