Udupi : As many as 174 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Friday, August 28, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 11,087.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 174 covid positive cases, 69 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 49 are male and 20 are females, meanwhile out of 105 cases of asymptomatic, 48 are males and 57 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 93, influenza like illness(ILI) 58, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 4, Under investigation 18. Domestic Traveler 1 and international traveler is nil.

Among 174 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 67, from Kundapura 85 and Karkala taluk 13 and from out of district are 9.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 28 are : Out of 174 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 105 and Home Isolation are 105. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 6531 including 105 today. Total Home Isolation is 4549 including 69 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 11,080 including 174 today on August 28.

A total of 69,302 samples have been collected so far including 515 on Friday, August 28, out of which 253 are covid suspects, 98 are covid contacts, 8 are SARI, 57 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 99.

A total of 57,691 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 515 on Friday and 524 test reports are pending.

As many as 11,087 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 174 on Friday, August 28.

As many as 8384 patients have been discharged so far, including 187 discharged today on Friday, August 28, which 47 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 140 from Home Isolation, 2608 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1159 and in home are 1449.

Till today Ninety Five persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district, including Two on Friday, August 28. One male person from Udupi taluk aged 72 years and One female person from Udupi taluk aged 66 years succumbed to death today on Friday, August 28, 2020.
