Udupi : As many as 83 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Monday, August 31, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 11,596.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 30 covid positive cases, 21 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 9 are male and 38 are females, meanwhile out of 53 cases of asymptomatic, 29 are males and 24 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 21, influenza like illness(ILI) 32, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 3, Under investigation 27. Domestic Traveler nil and international traveler is nil.

Among 83 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 28, from Kundapura 35 and Karkala taluk 18 and from out of district are 2.

Details of admissions/Isolation on August 31 are : Out of 83 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are  and Home Isolation are 26. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 6703 including 26 today. Total Home Isolation is 4886 including 57 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 11,589 including 83 today on August 31.

A total of 71,355 samples have been collected so far including 235 on Monday, August 31, out of which 191 are covid suspects, 6 are covid contacts, 4 are SARI, 24 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 10.

A total of 59,587 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 220 on Monday and 172 test reports are pending.

As many as 11,596 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 83 on Monday, August 31.

As many as 9101 patients have been discharged so far, including 303 discharged today on Monday, August 31, which 81 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 222 from Home Isolation, 2398 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 1125 and in home are 1273

Till today Ninety Seven persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district. Two males from Udupi aged 43 and 40 are succumbed to death today on Monday, August 31, 2020.
