Udupi : As many as 175 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Saturday, September 5, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 12,511.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 175 covid positive cases, 134 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 76 are male and 58 are females, meanwhile out of 41 cases of asymptomatic, 21 are males and 20 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 65, influenza like illness(ILI) 61, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 0, Under investigation 49, Domestic Traveler 0 and international traveler is nil.

Among 175 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 106, from Kundapura 34 and Karkala taluk 31 and from out of district are 4.

Details of admissions/Isolation on September 5 are: Out of 175 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 40 and Home Isolation are 135. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 6996 including 40 today. Total Home Isolation is 5508 including 135 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 12,504 including 175 today on September 5.

A total of 76,891 samples have been collected so far including 1435 on Saturday, September 5, out of which 1133 are covid suspects, 130 are covid contacts, 9 are SARI, 58 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 105.

A total of 64,123 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 1250 on today and 257 test reports are pending.

As many as 12,511 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 175 on Saturday, September 5.

As many as 10493 patients have been discharged so far, including 232 discharged today on Saturday, September 5, which 68 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 164 from Home Isolation, 1906 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 964 and in home are 942.

Till today 112 persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district including Four deaths reported in Udupi district as on Saturday, September 5.  Two females from Udupi district5 aged 79 and 70 years old and one male from Udupi taluk aged 62 years old, and one male from Karkala taluk aged 68 years old succumbed to death today on Saturday, September 5.
