Udupi : As many as 216 new cases tested for coronavirus positive reported on Sunday, September 6, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 12,727.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 120 covid positive cases, 120 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 67 are male and 53 are females, meanwhile out of 96 cases of asymptomatic, 47 are males and 49 are females. The sources for infection are contacts 74, influenza like illness(ILI) 84, Severe Acute Respiratory illness(SARI) 11, Under investigation 40, Domestic Traveler 7 and international traveler is nil.

Among 216 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 137, from Kundapura 43 and Karkala taluk 31 and from out of district are 5.

Details of admissions/Isolation on September 6 are: Out of 216 positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 75 and Home Isolation are 141. Total admissions for Covid Care Centre, Designated Covid hospital and designated covid health hospital are 7071 including 75 today. Total Home Isolation is 5649 including 141 today. Total number of admission and isolation till today are 12,720 including 216 today on September 6.

A total of 77,829 samples have been collected so far including 938 on Sunday, September 6, out of which 641 are covid suspects, 160 are covid contacts, 10 are SARI, 44 are ILI and other Hot Spot are 83.

A total of 64,752 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 629 on today and 350 test reports are pending.

As many as 12,727 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 216 on Sunday, September 6.

As many as 10763 patients have been discharged so far, including 270 discharged today on Sunday, September 6, which 106 patients are discharged from Covid Hospitals and 164 from Home Isolation, 1852 cases are currently active which active cases in hospitals are 933 and in home are 919.

Till today 112 persons succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district. There is no death reported as on Sunday, September 6.
