Gandhi jayanthi and Nss day was celebrated at St. Mary’s college  on 2-10-2020

Udupi, Oct 2, 2020: Prof. Prakash Kramadhary was the chief guest. In his speech he called nss volunteers to update themselves, as the need of the society is changing every year. Nss volunteers have to be up to date by understanding the need of the society, he also added that in society every one is having a particular role to play in this context nss volunteers must understand their role in the college, home and society, he called nss volunteers to take advantage of opportunities which are available in the nss so that they can reach new height.

Program was presided over by Dr. Hearld Ivan Monis, principal of the college, in his presidential remarks he appreciated the efforts of nss program officers and said that in nss there is no discrimination on the basis of caste and creed all are treated equal this is the core value of humanity, in actual practice if there caste exists it is only in the form of male and female and this is the creation of God he added.
In the program prizes were distributed to the nss volunteers who won the prizes in the competitions held during lockdown period.

Program officer Mr. Premnath welcomed the gathering, program officer Ms. Raksha praposed vote of thanks. Assistant program officer Mr. Samjoel dias and Mrs. Deepa shetty were present on the occasion along with other members of the staff of the college.
