Titular festal celebrations of our Lady of Holy Rosary, Santhekatte.

Kallianpur, Santhekatte, Oct 7, 2020: Today was a bright morning, though the threat of Covid 19 looming high and the confusion to continue to send shock waves across the place, the devout and enthusiastic parishioners of the Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte, Kallianpur, assembled in fairly large number at 10.30 a.m. to pray and celebrate the Thanks-giving Holy Mass in honour of the patroness – Mother Mary of Holy Rosary, for her continued benevolence, protection and motherly care especially during the past few  dreadful months / days.

The main celebrant of the Holy Mass was Rev. Fr. Clany Anthony D’Souza, who earlier served in this Church as Assistant Parish priest for three years, from June 2017 till May 2020.

In his well narrated homily, highlighted the power of daily Rosary and explained how the Rosary is a blessed blending of mental and vocal prayers by which we honour and learn to imitate the mysteries and virtues of life, passion, death and glory of Jesus Christ and Mary his blessed mother in our day today life. He further focussed on three points – God’s gifts to mankind in various ways, our acceptance of those gifts and talents with responsibilities and dedicated involvement in the execution of His plans on this earth. We look to our Blessed Mother, Mary our lady of the Rosary, as a model of Christian virtue, devoted entirely to her son, our Lord, Jesus Christ Priests from the Kallianpur Deanery and few guest priests joined the con-celebration and the main celebrant Rev. Fr. Clany Anthony D’Souza, extended festal greetings to the Parish priest, Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford D’Souza, Assistant Priest Fr. Steevan Fernandes, all parishioners who attended the Holy Mass and all those at homes, aged and sick and those serving outside and abroad.

Vicar Rev. Dr. Leslie D’Souza expressed his feelings and specially thanked the muddhom of the feast Stany Cornelio and his family for their whole hearted support and co-operation. He also expressed thanks to the office bearers and members of the Pastoral Council, Gurkars of 15 wards, all pious organisations, the Choir, the ICYM & YCS youth, altar servers, Sisters of both the convents  etc. for their help, support and prayers through-out this testing time…

To adhere and follow social or physical distance, safety precautions, The ICYM, YCS and others made exhaustive seating arrangements to accommodate faithful. As usual, the Church Choir added more life with selected hymns, chosen for the occasion coupled with melodious singing and soothing music. Led by Assistant Vicar Fr. Steevan Fernandes, Sr. Vandita and her team arranged meaningful liturgy for the special day.

On this occasion, a man-potr to highlight the dedicated services of Rev Fr Clany in our parish, for three wonderful years and to express the parishioner’s gratitude’s was read out by Vice President of the Pastoral Council Baptist Dias. He with Secretary Ronald Saldanha garlanded Fr. Clany, as a token of our love and appreciation. In his emotional reply, Fr. Clany thanked everyone in this parish for treating him as one in their family and assured his prayers for the welfare of parishioners and requested to keep him and his mission in prayers, as he shoulders the responsibilities as Director of ‘Kripa Sadhana’, a minor seminary imparting training during early formation years in Bajpe. He also extended festal greetings to all on behalf of all the Priests who celebrated the Holy Mass.
