Udupi : As many as 237 new cases tested for coronavirus positive and one death reported in Udupi district on Thursday, October 8, which takes the total positive cases in the district so far to 18,779 and deaths tally 162.

According to the district health bulletin to the media, among 237 covid positive cases, 143 cases reported as symptomatic,  out of which 80 are male and 63 are females, meanwhile out of 94 cases of asymptomatic, 52 are males and 42 are females.

Among 237 positive cases, whereas positive cases from Udupi are 123, from Kundapura 68 and Karkala taluk and from other districts are nil.
Details of admissions/Isolation on October 8 are: Out of 237positive cases, COVID care Centre and in designated COVID Hospital, in designated COVID Health Hospital are 127 and Home Isolation is 252.

A total of 1,38,651 samples have been collected so far including 2944 on till 7.10.2020, A total of 1,19,872 samples have turned out to be negative so far in the district, including 2734 on today and 451 test reports are not known.

As many as 18,779 confirmed positive cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district. Till today 162 persons are succumbed to death due to Coronavirus in the district, including one death reported today on Thursday, October 8.
