District Ambedkar Dalit Yuva Sena stages protest in Udupi against Hathral case and atrocities on dalits

Udupi : In order to control the atrocities on Dalit women, the solution is to get political power will be the only way for lower caste people. Hence, there should be a need to improve the political knowhow and make it strong politically, said R Baskar Prasad, activist.
He was speaking during the protest meeting organized by Udupi district Ambedkar Yuva Sena at War Memorial, Ajjarkad on Saturday, October 10, against the Hathras case in Uttar Pradesh . He said that those who provide legal safety, the rulers of the country and states are indulged in several criminal cases. The home minister of the country who was faced several criminal charges on his head. The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath also indulged in plenty of criminal cases . How these leaders will secure the people of the country, he asks.
Around 85% of the population of the country are dalits, backward communities, minorities without the power are servants of 3% of top communities. As a result of this, the dalits, backward communities are facing atrocities in different ways in the country, he said.
Bhaskar said that each day, there has been 16 rape cases reporting in Uttar Pradesh alone. When Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was on her way to meet the victim’s family at Hathras, UP police assaulted her physically during the lathi charge on congress workers. However, the Union government sent a special protection force to film actor Kangana in Mumbai. He criticized the government in providing safety to the women, especially for dalits, he said.
He said in order to live women independently, the constitution provided by Ambedkar is the main reason, but not any religion. Hence, there should be strong politics by the backward communities. If there is no political power, there cannot be improvement to reduce the atrocities on backward women in the country, he said.
Labour leader B. M. Bhat, Dalit leader Jayan Malpe spoke during the protest. During the protest Sundar Kappettu, Lokesh Padubidri, Kishna Shriyan Nergi, Manjunath Kappettu, Bhagwan Malpe, Santhosh Kappettu, Pramod Uchila, Kishore Hejmadi, Laxman Ambalpady, Bhaskar Padubidri, congress leaders Veronica Cornelio, Dr. Suneetha Shetty, Roshni Oliveira, Ramesh Kanchan and leaders of DKS Abimana Balaga and others were present.
At the end the effigy of Aditya Yogityanath was burned after the brief procession at War Memorial area, Ajjarkad.
