KSQ conducts blood donation camp for the year 2020

The president of KSQ, Mr. Nagesh Rao, spoke about the greatness of Blood donation and saving lives of many in the process. He welcomes the Presidents and Leaders of other Karnataka based associations including Bunts Qatar, Tulu Koota, Qatar Billavas, SKMWA, KMCA & UKB. He welcomed Vice President of ICBF, Mr. Mahesh Gowda and Joint Secretary of ICBF, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu.
The formal session concluded by thanking all blood donors, the staff of Hamad Blood Donation centre, Mr. Subramanya Hebbagelu for coordinating the event on behalf of KSQ and all the association leaders present.Doha : Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ) organized the annual blood donation camp at Hamad blood donation centre within HMC premises on Friday, 9th of October 2020 from 8:00AM to 12:00 PM. Approximately 50 packets of blood were collected from individual eligible and healthy donors, both Male and Female. Amidst prevailing condition of COVID-19 precautionary measures were followed including social distancing and all the members present were wearing masks.
The Chief Guest for the event, Dr. Ramya Nanjappa, Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Women’s wellness and Research centre, HMC. Dr. Ramya address the gathering and shared valuable insight about the iomportancef blood donation, eligibility, prerequisites, advantages, precaustion, examples of exceptional cases and shared her own experiences from her academic days. She also answered to the questions raised by the audience which was eventful and enhances the awareness of donation. She quoted that “Every donor today is a Hero. One drop of blood gives life to not just one person but three people since, plasma, platelets and RBC are extracted separately and transfused to the needy.”. The Chief Guest was gifted with a sapling on behalf of KSQ.
The First Secretary of Indian Embassy, Mr. S. Xavier Dhanaraj visited the event and conveyed his best wishes to the noble service of KSQ for the benefit of Society in Qatar.
