Print Udupi : The Udupi Police have arrested an absconding accused on 13th October for sexually harassing two scheduled caste minor girls in Palujeddu, Bairampalli village which comes under Hiriyadka Police Station limits.
The arrested has been identified as Pradeep Shetty (35), a resident of Bairampalli.
The accused was absconding since the crime. The Udupi police formed three teams to arrest the accused and succeeded in arresting the accused on October 13 in Mangaluru.
As per the police sources, another case of sexual harassment was also registered against the accused in Hiriyadka Police station limits back in 2018 that is still under investigation in the court.
On the direction of SP Vishnuvardhan, and the guidance of Additional SP Kumarachandra and DySP Udupi division Jaishankar, the operation was carried out by the Circle Inspector of Bramhmavar Ananthapadmanabha, DCIB PI Manjappa, PSI Brahmavar Raghavendra, PSI of Hiriyadka Sudhakar Tonse, PSI of Karkala Town Police Station Madhu B, police staff ASI Yogish, ASI Jayanth, HC Venkataramana, Chandra Shetty, Rathnakar Shetty, Lokesh Praveen Shegttigar, drivers Shantarama, Annappa, Ananda, Shekar and DCIB team members.
