Mangaluru: Newlyweds Priya, Rayan Fernandes killed in accident at Thokkottu bridge

Mangaluru, Oct 27: In a tragic incident that took place on Tuesday on Thokkottu overbridge, a lorry collided with a bike.

The accident caused the death of the woman and the man who were on the bike.

The deceased have been identified as Priya Fernandes (26) and the bike rider has been identified as her husband Rayan Fernandes (30). The couple were residents of Bajal and had recently married. They were staying at a rented house in Bangera Lane, Ullal. They had got married earlier in February this year. While Rayan was working as an accountant at Father Muller hospital, his wife Priya was employed as a clerk at the same hospital.   

The accident took place when the lorry was coming via Thokkottu flyover. It hit the bike which was taking a turn to head towards Ullal. As per reports, the lorry ran over the couple and dragged them for a few meters before finally coming to a stop. While Priya died on the spot, Rayan passed away on the way to the hospital.

As per reports, the incident took place when the couple was on their way back home from work at Father Muller hospital.
