Udupi : Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur of Udupi diocese observed the “All Saints Day” here on Sunday, November 1. Meanwhile after the Holy Eucharistic celebrations parishioners’ vehicle blessings also was held.

The Holy Eucharistic mass was celebrated at 7am by Very Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Rector and parish priest of the parish. In his homily he pointed out the importance of celebrating the all saints day in the church. Sainthood is granted by God Himseelf to any common person who simply trusts Jesus Christ like St Theresa of Avila, St Theresa of Calcutta and other saints. Saints are those who give up the anti-faith alternative of trying to please to God by their faith actually becomes the very righteousness of God.

As soon as the Eucharistic mass was over, Very Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca cited the prayers on vehicles and along with Fr. Canute Noronha Asst. Parish priest sprinkled of Holy water and blessed the vehicles parked in large numbers in the Cathedral campus.

Due to COVID pandemic, comparatively previous year, the vehicles parked less this year. The Eucharistic mass to be held on the occasion of All Souls Day in the morning after the first mass at 7am on Monday, followed by Holy prayers at Cathedral cemetery and all tomb blessings with sprinkle of Holy water. In the evening at 4pm another mass will be held.
