Manipal: Manipal police have arrested nine people in connection with the murder attempt on November 4 of bus owner Saifuddin in Udupi district’s Manipal police station limit.

Darshan, Santhosh, Anil Kumar, Sukesh Pujari, Gopal, Mohana, Soma, Mahesh Babu and Saubhagya have been arrested.

Saifuddin escaped the attack on the day of the incident on November 4 with his partner Akram when he was in the office of Laxmindranagar, near Manipal Police station limit by four accused tried to kill Saifuddin with deadly weapon. Meanwhile the accused fled in a Duster car. Saifuddin lodged a complaint at Manipal police station and the police registered a case and the investigation continued.

Udupi District Superintendent of Police N Vishnuvardhan formed three separate investigation teams consists of Udupi and Karkala DySP and other Kundapur ASP. Officers of the investigating team have collected the information and arrested the nine accused, who were hiding at the Muraththangadi lodge in Karkala.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police, Vishnuvardhan, Directed by Additional SP Kumara Chandra, Kundapur ASP Hariram Shankar, DySP TR Jai Shankar, Karkala DySP Bharat.S Reddy, Manipal Inspector Manjunath.M, Karkala Circle Inspector Inspector Sampat Kumar, Brahmavara Circle Inspector Ananthapadmanabha, Police Officers’ of DCIB, Staff, Manipal PSI Rajashekhar, Brahmavara PSI Raghavendra C, Hiriyadka PSI Sudhakar Tonse, Karkala Nagar PSI Madhu, Hebrew PSI Suma and Team were participated during the operation.
