Udupi, November 7: Gender minorities are seeing inequality in society and are facing many problems. "This should be aimed at raising awareness and awareness of gender in the masses," said Dr Naveen Bhat Y, chief executive officer of the district panchayat.


He inaugurated the District Level Advocacy and Legal Awareness Program of the Gender Minorities at Udupi Taluk Panchayat Auditorium on Saturday under the auspices of District Legal Services Authority Udupi, Women’s and Child Development Department, Udupi and Sarathya Payana Bangalore.
Everyone is the same under the law, everyone in society has their own status. He said that only 5 persons belonging to the gender minority have been given housing in the district. He said the government’s housing facilities would be given priority by the community in the future.

Chandrika, the official of Department of Women and Child Development, spoke on the launch of the District Gender Minority Alliance Project and the Women and Child Development Department has made several plans to bring the gender minority to the main channel. Providing support and incentives for self-employment training, education, and infrastructure and living independently. The interest free loan facility will also be given.
Speaking as a Resource Person, District Balanya Board Member and advocate Amrita Kala CS, Speaker said that there are 85 persons in the district with a minority and fewer registered. Therefore, the remaining should register their names and giving the gender minority equal rights under the law and right to vote also. They have all the constitutional rights and should register for the government’s various privileges. She added that if problems arise, anyone in society will be prosecuted under the law by the Legal Services Authority.
