How to avoid the second wave of COVID-19 in Udupi?

Print COVID-19 cases are gradually lowering in Udupi. Hospital admissions, ICU admissions and deaths due to COVID-19 have significantly reduced.
The last 2 months were very difficult - hospitals were full and health care services were stretched beyond their limit. Hundreds of people needed ICU care and many lost their lives too. But the mortality rate in Udupi was much lower as compared to most other districts of Karnataka, and many regions in the world.
The reduction is cases is a great relief to everyone - hospitals, healthcare workers, district administration and the general public.
What may happen next?
Many countries and regions are experiencing a second wave. Udupi is also likely to get second wave. However, we can completely avoid or at least lessen the impact of the second wave of infections.
How can we avoid the second wave of COVID-19?
With simple precautions:
1. Use masks correctly
2. Maintain physical distancing
3. Clean hands frequently and
4. Avoid large gatherings.
That is all we need to do until a safe and effective vaccine becomes available. Together, let us take these simple precautions and keep Udupi district safe. This is our duty and responsibility.-Dr Shashikiran Umakant

Yesterday I was in Udupi at the Sub Registrars office and I was shocked to find many people including the office staff not wearing masks ...  Agree[1]
