District Congress to organise signature campaign against the APMC farm bill on Nov 17

Udupi : In response to call given by Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi against the Union and State Farm bills and APMC bill of the state, signatures campaign will be launched in Udupi here on November 17.
Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press Club here on Friday, November 13, Ashok Kumar Kodavoor District President of Congress Committee said that signatures campaign will be held in all villages of the country and to be given to the President of India. In response to Sonia Gandhi, in our state also signatures campaign will be held under the guidance and leadership of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D K Shivakumar.
Kodavoor said that in Udupi district there are 1111 booths and the workers of Congress already started the signatures from the farmers of every booth in the district. In Udupi the collected signatures from 1111 booths will be displayed for distance of about two kilometers from Bannaje to Kadiyali to raise awareness to the public. The Congress workers will stand beside the road and display signatures to the public.
The programme will be inaugurated by Salim Ahmed Working President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, he said.
Around 2 crore farmers’ signatures will be taken in the country and to be submitted to Indian President.
Former ministers Vinay Kumar Sorake, Pramod Madhwaraj, former MLAs Gopala Poojary and U R Sabhapathy and others will be present during the jatha of two kilometers by road from Bannaje to Kadiyali.
Congress leaders Harish Kini, Kirthi Shetty, Prashanth Jathanna and others were present during the press meet.
