Print Udupi,14th November 2020: Every year 14 November is celebrated worldwide as Diabetes Day. Department of Endocrinology of Kasturba Medical College and Hospital, Manipal has observed in a unique way by Sand Art Display to Promote awareness on diabetes at Malpe beach.
Dr. Sharat K Rao Dean, KMC unveiled the sand sculpture and said that, “India is number two in the world as the number of Diabetics patients concerned. More concern is in that 2/3rd of the patients from south India. This year theme is ‘Nurse and Diabetes’. Nurses play key roles in providing lifelong care for people with diabetes, including screening, regular check-ups, psychological support and information on self-management and healthy living”.
Mr. C G Muthana, Chief Operating Officer, and Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent jointly inaugurated the selfie stand, and Dr. Sahana Shetty, Head, Department of Endocrinology given an overview of the unique program.
