Udupi: Upgrading the existing district bed at Udupi to 250 beds, with other infrastructure facilities already approved to be completed at a cost of Rs.115 crore. Until the new district hospital building is completed, the current district hospital will be shifted to Brahmavara during the Zilla Panchayat general meeting held at Dr. V S Acharya Hall, Rajathadri here on Wednesday, November 18.

The new district building works are scheduled to begin in February or March 2021, requiring the evacuation of patients and equipment during the new building, which will require a temporary relocation to Brahmavara. Member Janardhan Tonsey objected that the Kemmannu PU College building works, which started with a grant of Rs 30 lakh in 2007-08, have not been completed. The President instructed the Public Works Department officials to complete the building as soon as possible and hand it over to the concerned department.

Member Batavade Suresh urged the officials of the Urban Development Authority to take necessary action in regard to irregularities on distribution of ration at Paduvari City Panchayat.
