Udupi : Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Hithasadhana Vedike urged the chief minister Yeddyurappa and state BJP President Nilin Kumar Kateel to give the position of cabinet minister in the state government to Lalaji R Mendon who three time MLA of Kaup Legislative Assembly Constituency.
Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press Club here on Monday, November 23, Pushparaj Kotian Pithrodi, President of Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Hithasadhana Vedike Uchila said that Lalaji R Mendon who is only one represents the Gangamatha/Mogaveera community in the state legislative assembly. We compel the chief minister to give cabinet rank minister in the state, so our community can represent for our various demands for the uplift of our 39 various communities with more than 80 lac population in the state. We feel there is no proper representation given to our communities, he said.
He said that in all the states of the country whichever the parties ruling has given suitable representation in various governments. Moreover, all the earlier governments that have ruled Karnataka have given representation to the fishermen community. But we regret that Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state has neglected the fishermen community in such a large numbers in the state by not offering proper representation. Presently in the state, only one person Lalaji R Mendon who has represents fishermen in the state legislative assembly. We can’t agree of such innocence on our communities’ votes to the BJP which not offering cabinet rank minister to our community which saddened us with BJP, he said.
Everybody knows that coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttar Kannada are the solid base of BJP due to their support to BJP. But the way BJP shows innocence on our communities which deeply hurt us, he said.
Hence, the only active MLA from fishermen community in the ruling BJP in Karnataka state who won three times out of six elections in the state legislative assembly should get the cabinet rank minister in the state. We strongly urge the Yeddyurappa and Nalin Kumar Kateel to give representation in the state cabinet minister.
Dr. Devi Prasad Hejmadi State President of National Fishermen Association, Damodhar Suvarna President of Hadinaru Patna Mogaveera Sabha Uchila, Manoj Kanchan vice president Nalku Patna Mogaveera Sabha Uchila, Laxman Maiden former vice president of Mogaveera Hithsadhana Vedike Uchila, and Somanath Suvarna Treasurer Dakshina Kannada Hithasadhana Vedike, Uchila were present during the press meet.
