Covid Vaccine Covishield arrives in Udupi under police escort from Mangaluru

Udupi : Much needed for some or not the Covishield vaccine against coronavirus arrived in Udupi today on Thursday, January 14 which was received by the officials of the health department in the presence of District Collector and others at District Health Office, Ajjarkad.
The Covishield vaccine reached District Health Office with police escort from Mangaluru at around 11.50am. The Covisheild vaccine kept in specially established high quality freezers in the District Health Office Drug House warehouse room and police protection has been provided outside the office to 24X7 hours.
The district Collector G Jagadeesh said that on the first phase 12,000 doses of vaccines arrived to Udupi district. These vaccines doses will be given at 94 vaccine centers in Udupi district. On the first phase, the vaccines will be given at 74 government centers and 20 private centers for health warriors to be given. After 28 days, second dose of vaccines will be given.
The vaccine doses will be given from 16th January after the inauguration at national level.
Along with District collector, Zilla Panahcyat CEO Dr. Naveen Bhat, District Health Officer Dr. Sudheer Chandra Sooda, Covid Nodal Officer Dr. Prashanth, DR. Premanand and others were present.
