The 72nd Republic Day Celebrated in Udupi district with patriotic and fervour

Udupi : The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic and fervor At Mahatma Gandhi District Ground, Ajjarkad here on 26th January 2021.
Fisheries and Port Minister S. Angara hoisted the tri-colour national flag and he received colourful guard of honour from the district armed police, home guards, Red Cross, NCC cadets.
In his address, Minister S. Angara said that since January 26, 1950 after the formation of Indian State Constitution under the President Babu Rajendra Prasad and legal expert, elegant Dr B. R. Ambedkar, every year the nation celebrating the Indian Constitution Day or Indian Republic Day. We should give respect and honor to the architect of Indian Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on the occasion.
On the occasion, after the formation of state government has been providing good governance in the state with good development for the people. After the inauguration of the vaccination programme against the corona pandemic, since 16th January 19 vaccination centre were established and we received 23,900 doses of vaccines which the district administration providing vaccination shots for front line corona warriors.
Rs. 37.37 crore released for the compensation on flood relief works and repair of roads and bridges which damaged from the heavy rain and flood in the district. In relate to food department, distributed 1,93,714 BPL and Anthodaya ration cards. Under the union government special aid, during the 2020/21 year, 4,31,100 litre of diesel distributed in subsidy rate.
For the farmers and coolie labours support, released farming machines to the concerned people. During 2020/21 year about 923 farmers got benefit with Rs. 122.30lakh amount. Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sanman project, union government and the state government provided annual amount of Rs. 10,000 which Rs 6000 from Union government and Rs 4000 from state government. Under this project, 154592 farmers registered for the grant and 147216 farmers got Rs. 175.73crore.
Under the fundamental facilities programme of the Public Education department, 24 class rooms for 19 government schools granted Rs. 2.54 crore and Rs. 63.60 lac released on first phase for the government schools. For the 04 government high schools Rs. 110.25 lac granted for construction of 7 class rooms and on the first phase, Rs. 27.26 lac released. Due to flood disaster this year, for the 75 schools building repair, Rs. 1.41 crore has been released.
Prior to the speech by S Angara, remembered Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar with paying floral tribute to his portrait.
Achievers in SSLC and PUC students were felicitated during the occasion. Meanwhile farmer achievers were felicitated on the occasion.
Cultural programme were performed by the MGM College students and other schools students after the stage programme.
Raghupathy Bhat Udupi MLA, Dinakar Babu ZP President, Sandhya Kamath Udupi taluk panchayat president, Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde president of Coastal Urban Development Authority, Raghavendra Kini Udupi Urban Development Authority, Sumithra R Nayak President of Udupi City Council Municipality, G. Jagadeesha District Collecter, Naveen Bhat ZP CEO, Vishnuvardhan District Superintendent of Police, Chetan Kumar Superintendent of Coastal Guard Police and others were present on the dais.
