MP Karandlaje, Please Stop Targeting Churches with False Allegations -Catholic Sabha Udupi

Udupi: The Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh has strongly condemned the malicious propaganda by MP Shobha Karandlaje representing the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency saying that churches have been misleading the people against vaccination.

In a Press statement Mary D’Souza, president of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Pradesh said, “The Catholic Sabha has been silently working through Covid Warriors in all churches of Udupi District. The members have been spreading awareness among the people irrespective of religion and caste regarding the benefits of vaccination and even volunteering to take the people to the vaccination centres. Besides, in different parts of the country, Christian institutions such as schools, places of prayer and auditoriums have been turned into Covid Care centres. The representatives should not forget that the Christian community has been in the forefront that considers the service in health care as service of God”.

The Bishop, priests and other Christian leaders have themselves given example to the people by getting themselves vaccinated and encouraging their followers to get the benefits of vaccination. Under these circumstances, the propaganda by MP Shobha Karandlaje that the Church does not encourage vaccination is completely false and malicious.

Like last year, this year too, the Christian community has been helping those who suffer due to the lockdown by providing dry ration kits to the needy. This service is being rendered in silence without seeking any publicity. Members of the Christian community have been following without fail all the Covid related protocols imposed by the government. As all the churches are closed due to lockdown, it would be better if MP Karandlaje explains as to how the Church authorities can advise its members against vaccination. In the absence of such clarification, it may be presumed that the MP has been targeting the Christian community solely for the purpose of publicity and requests her to stop this uncalled for and malicious propaganda.

Instead of targeting a particular community, it would be better if Madam Shobha Karandlaje visits various vaccination centres and ensures that each of these centres get a sufficient number of vaccination doses so that those who wait in queues for vaccination would not return disappointed. In this respect, the Catholic Sabha of Udupi Pradesh is ready to extend any help to the MP, said Mary D’Souza.

ಚರ್ಚ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದೆಂದು ಪ್ರಚಾರಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಉಡುಪಿ ಸಂಸದೆ ಶೋಭಾ ಕರಂದ್ಲಾಜೆಯವರ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯು ಖಂಡನಾರ್ಹ..ಕೋವಿಡ್ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವೈಫಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಕೋಮು ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಎಳೆದು ತರಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಎ.ಐ.ಸಿ.ಸಿ.ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಐವನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾರವರು ಆಕ್ರೋಶವನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
      
ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಲಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ, 45 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಲಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾನೇ ಖುದ್ದಾಗಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಶಿಬಿರವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಶೋಭಾ ಕರಂದ್ಲಾಜೆಯವರಂತಹ ಜವಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಲಾಭಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಸಲ್ಲದ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಬಾರದು ಇದನ್ನು ನಾವು ಸಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಐವನ್ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.ಸಂಸದರಾಗಿ ಶೋಭಾರವರ ಸಾಧನೆ ಶೂನ್ಯ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಿದ್ದು, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಲಸಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಲುಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಿ. ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಧರ್ಮಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಕಂದಕವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಠಿಸಿದರೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಲಾಭವೆಂದು ಐವನ್ ಡಿ’ಸೋಜಾರವರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶೋಭಾರವರು  ತಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಪಡೆದು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕೋವಿಡ್ 19 ರ ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಕೂಲ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯವು ವಿವಿಧ ಸ್ತರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಚರ್ಚುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿ, ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೆರವಿನ ಹಸ್ತ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಆರೈಕೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯಲು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ, ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಸಹಕರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ವ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿನ್ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿ, ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚ್ ವಠಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಸಿಕಾ ಶಿಬಿರಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಧರ್ಮಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರುಗಳು, ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು, ಇತರ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಮುಖಂಡರುಗಳು ತಾವೇ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತು ವ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿನ್ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹಾ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ವ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿನ್ ಹಾಕಿಸಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಚುರಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಸಂಸದೆ ಶೋಭಾ ಕರಂದ್ಲಾಜೆಯವರ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಆರೋಪದಿಂದ ನೋವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಧರ್ಮಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ರೊಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾಸ್ತೆಲಿನೊ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Udupi, May 20: “The statement by MP Shobha Karandlaje that there is propaganda in the churches not to take vaccination is part of a hidden agenda of communally provocative politics of BJP. Such irresponsible statements by elected representatives spoil social harmony. Congress condemns the statement by the MP,” stated Udupi district Congress in the press statement.

“BJP was criticized globally for making Tablighi Jamats responsible for the malformation of Corona first wave. It is now thrusting on Christian community the responsibility of its failure to contain corona second wave, lighting the communal spark in the state and continuing its old habit for its politics,” stated Congress.

“Christian community has always cooperated with the government during difficult times in the country. Christian missionaries have already converted their hospitals as Covid centres. We have come to know that they are providing free medicines on a priority basis.

The statements by an elected representative during the current medical emergency do not decorate the person. On those grounds, Shobha Karandlaje should apologise to the entire community,” stated district Congress committee president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor at a press release.

ಉಡುಪಿ: ಸಂಸದೆ ಶೋಭಾ ಕರಂದ್ಲಾಜೆಯವರು ಚರ್ಚುಗಳು ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಲಸಿಕೆ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಚರ್ಚೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಬದಲು ಮೊದಲು ತನ್ನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಕ್ಸಿನ್ ಲಭಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕಾಳಜಿ ತೋರಿಸಲಿ ಎಂದು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನಾಯಕಿ ವೆರೋನಿಕಾ ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೊ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಂಸದೆಯಾಗಿ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸುಳ್ಳು ವದಂತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶಾಂತಿ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುವುದೇ ಇವರ ಚಾಳಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಾಕ್ ಡೌನ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸರಕಾರದ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಚೂ ತಪ್ಪದೆ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸಮುದಾಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೂಡ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಕಾರದ ಆದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚ್ಯುತಿ ಬಾರದಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಲಸಿಕೆ ವಿತರಣೆ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ಮುಂಚೂಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಕೂಡ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಪಡೆಯುವಂತೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಚರ್ಚುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಧರ್ಮಗುರುಗಳು ಸ್ವತಃ ಅವರುಗಳೇ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ತನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳೂ ಕೂಡ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೆಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಂತೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸಂಸದರು ಹೇಳಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿರುವುದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಇರುವ ಅನುಭವದ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನು ಎದ್ದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮತದಾರರನ್ನೆ ಮರೆತಿರುವ ಸಂಸದರು ಮೂರು ನಾಲ್ಕು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ಅತಿಥಿಯಂತೆ ಬಂದು ಇಲ್ಲಸಲ್ಲದ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಆರೋಪಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ವಾಪಾಸಾಗಿದ್ದು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಶೂನ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಎರಡರಲ್ಲೂ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಸರಕಾರ ಇದ್ದರೂ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಸಿಕೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಫಲರಾಗಿರುವುದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಎದ್ದು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಒರ್ವ ಸಂಸದೆ ಇಂತಹ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಕಷ್ಟದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಒಗ್ಗೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಸಮುದಾಯಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಬಿರುಕು ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಅಪನಂಬಿಕೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಖಂಡನೀಯ.

ಸಂಸದೆಯವರ ಇಂತಹ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಂದ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತ ಸಮುದಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ನೋವುಂಟಾಗಿದ್ದು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರ ಕ್ಷಮೆಯನ್ನು ಕೋರಬೇಕು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಂಸದೆಯ ಇಂತಹ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಡಿವಾಣ ಹಾಕುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ನಾಯಕರು ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಗ್ರವಾದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಕರ್ನೆಲಿಯೋ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಜಾತಿ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ವಿಂಗಡಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಸದೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೂಡಲೇ ಕೇಸು ದಾಖಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಿಗೆ, ಪಾಂಡೇಶ್ವರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲು ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು.
