Udupi : Those who are responsible person not follow the Covid pandemic guidelines of the government are responsible to increase the covid positivity in the district, District Collector G Jagadeesha.

Speaking to media persons on Saturday, July 31, G Jagadeesha said that those who are responsible persons like elected representatives’ and government officers should follow the covid guidelines strictly. They should be role model for the public to control the pandemic. The various associations should also follow the covid guidelines. The members of the public should not attend much gathered programmes. There should need to close the meetings and public gatherings.

DC said that the district positivity of the covid has near to 3%. However, since two three days the positivity rate increased to near 5%. The reason may be the contact of Kerala and Maharastra returned people in the district. We can see in these people with primary contact from the covid infected persons, DC said.

Another reason may be people would think that the covid second wave finished. But, the second wave of the pandemic yet to be finished. People are conducting meetings and programmes with gatherings of more than hundred people even though more positivity rate of covid in the district. This is not correct. I spoke with district police superintendent and asked to penalize for not wearing the masks, he said.  

The members of the public should aware of covid spreading fast which the active cases increased to more than thousand cases. Those who are conducting large gatherings are inviting the third covid wave in the district, he said.
