Udupi : The installation ceremony of Lions Club, Kallianpur office bearers for the year  2021/22 was held at Amrith Garden, Ambagilu near here on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Lns. Dr. Nery Cornelio mjf, Second Vice District Governor, district 317c, Zone 1, Region VI, officiated the installation ceremony for the team of Ln. Jerome Lewis President elect for 2021/22.

The programme began with Lions formatives. One minute silence was observed for the soul of Wilfred R. D’Souza former Lions District Governor who was passed away today afternoon at his residence at Udupi.

The Lions Club Kallianpur outgoing president Ronald Suvares welcomed the gathering. Ln Tolbert D’Souza Secretary placed the annual report of the unit for the year 2020/21.

Ln Dr. Nery Cornelio mjf conducted the installation ceremony of all the directors of the Lions Club, Kallianpur with Lions tradition. Prior to the ceremony Ln Lancy D’Silva introduced the installation officer Dr. Nery Cornelio who also a member of the Lions Club Kallianpur.

After the installation ceremony Lns. Dr. Nery Cornelio said that we should have pride to be member of Lions Club who can commit to help the poorest of the poor people in the society. Lions Club Kallianpur have the history of 29 years which was first installed by Ln Shastri of Mangaluru and then parish priest of Milagres Church Very Rev Fr. William Gonsalves blessed the occasion. Since then, the Lions Club Kallianpur has been growing very fast with several awards on its pocket.

During the occasion the toppers of previous examination of members’ children were felicitated. Meanwhile scholarship for one deserved poor student distributed by the installation officer. Two newly joined members were honored and accepted their vows. Ln Dr. Nery Cornelio, Ln Ronald Suares and Ln Tolbert D’Souza were felicitated during the occasion.

The newly elected President Ln Jerome Lewis spoke with the words of acceptance and offered cooperation and support by the members.

The newly elected Secretary Ln George D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Ln Nanda Kishore compared the installation ceremony. Ln. Sudharshan Hegde Regent Chairperson, Ln Rajeev Kotian and others were present on the dais.
