Udupi : The district police succeeded to arrest an accused in the murder of financier Ajendra Shetty within 24 hours of murder.

Addressing a media conference at DPO office conference hall here on Monday, August 1, Superintendant of Police N. Vishnuvardhan said that Ajendra Shetty was found murdered in his finance office at Kalawara near Koteshwara of Kundapur taluk. After the complaint by Mahendra Shetty the brother of Ajendra Shetty to the police, the Kundapur Rural PSI Niranjan Gowda rushed to the murder spot which found that Ajendra was brutally murdered and suspected Ajendra’s business partner Anup Shetty behind this murder.

SP said that based on the complaint by deceased brother Mahendra Shetty, the district police formed three teams to investigate the crime. The teams led by DySP Kundapur K Srikanth, Gopikrishna CPI Kundapur and Santhosh Kaikini CPI Byndoor. SP said the team has been succeeded to arrest accused Anup Shetty (33) at Kolva Beach in Goa state.

As per the complaint by Ajendra’s brother Mahendra Shetty, the accused Anup Shetty was the partner of Dream Finance located at Kalavara. Both were friends since eight years. After returning from the gulf and Singapur, Anup began his business with Ajendra. SP said that the accused Anup confessed to the police after arrest that there was a misunderstanding between both partners Ajendra and Anup Shetty with money matters. The main reason behind for the brutal murder has been the money matters and Ajendra purchased brand new car. More details of the murder will be found after the full investigation, SP said.

SP said that Byndoor Circle Inspector brought the accused to Kundapur taluk court and produced him in front of the investigating officer on August 1 and remanded the accused till August 9.

Police recovered the newly branded car at Goa which belongs to Ajendra Shetty and not registered yet. SP said the further details for cause of murder yet to be ascertained and investigation under way.

The operation was carried out by the Sridhar Naik, PSI Shankarnarayana Police station, Nanja Naika Gangolli PSI, Niranjan Gowda PSI of Kundapur Rural Station, Chandrashekar, Nagendra, Srinivas, Santhosh Mumar, Raghavendra, Ramu, Santhosh, Seetharam, Sathish, Chidananda, Madusoodan and Dinesh from the technical wing.

SP Vishnuvardhan appreciated the police team for crack the murder case within 24 hours.
