Udupi : After the prayers and last rites of deceased Oscar Fernandes at his home at Ajjarkad, the mortal remains of his was brought to Congress Bhavan, near Nairkere, Brahmagiri  to pay last respect by the congressmen and other leaders.

Large number of people gathered on the side of the road between Oscar’s house to Congress Bhavan where Congress workers showered flowers on the vehicle carrying mortal remains of Oscar Fernandes. Earlier days, the Congress office of the district located at his residence and later the vast Congress Bhavan was constructed near Nairkere here at Brahmagiri under the leadership of late Oscar Fernandes.

D. K. Shivakumar State Congress President was arrived to Congress Bhavan as soon as mortal remains of Oscar Fernandes brought in where large number of Congressmen gathered to pay their last respect to their leaders.

D. K. Shivakumar was paid his last respect on behalf of State Congress party. Meanwhile other congress leaders of the district like Ashok Kumar Kodavoor, Pratapchandra Shetty, Vinaykumar Sorake, Ivan D’Souza AICC secretary, UT Khadar MLA, Gopala Poojary former MLA, U R Sabhapathy former MLA, Moideen Bhava former MLA, J R Lobo former MLA, Abhayachandra Jain former minister, Veronica Cornelio KPCC Panelist, Harish Kumar MLC and other congress leaders Prakyath Shetty, Harish Kini and block congress leaders and district leaders were paid their last respect to Oscar Fernandes.

As soon as the mortal remains brought to the Congress Bhavan, it was very hard to control the people gathered large for the police. The rush of the people was large and police along with Sevadal volunteers found hard to maintain the order.

The mortal remains will be taken to Mangaluru on later today which will be kept in Congress Office at Mangularu and will be taken to Milagres Church, Mangaluru for mass and prayers.

The final blessing is organized at St. Patrick Church, Bengaluru and burial services will be held at Hosur Cemetery, Bengaluru.
