Udupi : Ravi Katpady who collected money from fancy dress on Ashtami days in Udupi last week here will be distributed to eight children suffering severely from various diseases.
Addressing a press meet at Udupi Press Club here on Wednesday, September 15, Ravi Katpady said that this year during the two days of fancy dress has been collected Rs. 7.14 lacs amount. This amount will be distributed in front of various personalities on Thursday, September 16 to ill healthy eight children.
He said there is no need to lakhs of amount to help the needy children for their medical treatment. If we have good heart and sense of helping needy can enough to survive them in their life. Since several years Ravi Katpady has been collecting the amount and helped the needy one especially who suffering from various diseases like cancer.
He collected since six years with fancy dress during the Asthami days amounted to Rs. 79 lakhs and all amounts he was distributed to the ill health children of Udupi district. This year also even though Covid pandemic, people were supported him to do his better cause.
This year Ravi Katpady collected total Rs 7,12,350 with Rs. 4,77,740 in collecting box and from other sources by cheque and other.
Ravi Katpady said that the collected amount will be distributed on September 16 in the evening at Sri Babbuswami Koragajja Dyvasthana premises at Katpady near. Sri Isha Vittaldas Swamiji of Kemaru Math, Tulu Sahitya Academy President Dayananda Katthal, Udupi District Collector Kurma Rao, ADC Sadashiva Prabhu, SP Vishnuvardhan, Udayavani Digital Marketing chief Harish Bhat and with the guidance of Ravi Friends Katpady advisors Mahesh Shenoy, Katapady Patebettu Sri Babbuswami Koragajja Dyveshatana administrator Harishchandra Pilar will be present during the amount distribution programme.
