Udupi : Within September 30, there would be 100% target to give jab of Covid Vaccination in the state for the above 18 years old people. In relation to the state target, the Udupi district has the target to give megha 80,000 vaccines to above 18 years old people on September 17, said District Collector Kurma Rao M.

Addressing a press meet at Rajatadri, Zilla Panchayat Hall here on Wednesday, September 15, DC said that Basavaraju Bommai, state chief minister planned to give jab of covid vaccination programme all over the state. In our district all the 18 years and above people should take advantage to get the vaccines on September 17 which we have 80.000 covid vaccines are available. We have at present 16000 vaccines in stock, he said.

In order to this huge offer to get the vaccines, the district administration will be arranged 300 vaccination centers in the district on September 17 to help the people. The doctors, Ayush doctors, Health assistants, Anganavadi workers, Asha workers, all task force committee members, medical college doctors, nurses, students, school teachers and others will assist for the this huge vaccination programme in the district, he said.

DC said that the district administration has the target to give the covid vaccination for above 18 years 10,02,762 old people  which already for 8,47,940 that is 84.60% first dose vaccines. Out of this 3,45,558 people which is 34.50% already given second dose of vaccines.

In order to give information of megha vaccination programme, the district administration to be organized public phone-in programme on Thursday, September 16 between 10am to 11am. The public can call 9663957222 and take the valuable information directly from us, DC said.

In order to make the huge vaccination programme on September 17, the district administration appointed one each nodal officer for 100-200 houses and we have given responsibilities to Nodal Officers to collect people to get the vaccines, CEO of ZP dr. Naveen Bhat said.

DC said that 100% vaccination has completed in Kavrady, Balkur and Kadur gram panchayats in Udupi district and the work has been done to achieve 100% target to remaining gram panchayats, he said.

The district administration requested members of public to get the vaccination completely. Those who received first dose, should take the second dose after 84 days of first dose as soon as possible and need to public cooperation to expected third wave of Covid-19, DC said.
