Inauguration of  the Centenary year  of pangla/Shankerpura parish, Udupi

Udupi, Nov 23, 2021: The inauguration ceremony of the centenary year of St John the Evangelist Church Pangla was held with a solemn  Thanksgiving Mass on Monday 22nd November 2021.As soon as Bishop Jerald Issac Lobo was received at the Church entrance gate, he inaugurated a huge banner depicting information of centenary year. Prior to the Holy Eucharist  Bishop inaugurated the centenary Jubilee year logo and the prayer leaflets. Rev Fr Lawrence Mendonca, a senior priest from shankerpura parish released special vehicle’s stickers  on this occasion.

In his homily, Bishop complimented  Pangla parishioners  for the strong faith in the Lord and trust in the powerful  intercession of St John the evangelist."The jubilee is a remembrance. All need to live that faith which was sown 100 years ago. We need to build the families and not buildings. Life of prayer, forgiveness and love should be inculcated in the families’ he said

Rev Fr Ferdinand  Gonsalves the parish priest thanked Bishop, priests and parishioners for their presence and prayers. During this inauguration program of the centenary celebration, the following persons were present; Fr Anil pinto Assistant priest,Mr John Rodrigues, Vice president,Mrs. Anitha D’Souza, the secretary, Mrs. Seema  Margaret  D’souza, commissions coordinator, Fr Leslie  D’souza,  parish priest of Mount Rosary.
