Ukraine Update: MLA Ragupathi Bhat Visits Stranded Student Meclean Fernandes house in Kemmannu.

Kemmannu, Feb 28, 2022: MLA Ragupathi Bhat Visits Stranded MBBS Student Meclean Fernandes house in Kemmannu and gathered information’s from the parents Mr. Melyne and Ida Fernandes and reassured the support to the family to bring back their son safely to India. Bhat said that all the required preparations to get Meclean back to India is underway.

Satish Shetty, president of Ganpati Seva Co-operative Society, Prashant of Kemmannu Gram Panchayat, Purandara Gujjarbettu and party activists Prashant Kanchan, Ravi Bengre, Sudhakar and Udupi tahsildar Pradeep Kurdekar and Village Accountant Girish were present.

Ukraine Update: Around 30 students hailing from Karnataka have been safely evacuated

Embassy of India, Kyiv, has started evacuation of stranded Indian Nationals from Ukraine. The evacuation flights operating under “Operation Ganga” are started evacuating stranded Indian Citizens in Ukraine through bordering countries, ie, Romania, Budapest, Bucharest, etc. Around 30 students hailing from Karnataka have been safely evacuated.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines, Govt. of India and Hon’ble Revenue Minister and the Nodal Officer received 12 Students at KIAL.

Hon’ble Revenue Minister and Vice Chairman, KSDMA and Dr. Manoj Rajan, Nodal Officer Cum Commissioner KSDMA are facilitating the travel of students hailing from Karnataka to their respective destinations. The local tickets from Delhi and Mumbai to Bengaluru will be borne from State Government. Further, Nodal Officer and his team are in constant touch MEA to evacuate remaining stranded students in Ukraine.

The State Government has opened facilitation center at IGI Airport, New Delhi, to coordinate and support stranded students arriving at IGI Airport hailing from Karnataka.
