Byndoor : Udupi district in-charge Minister S Angara visited the Kaluhitlu areas of Shiroor on Wednesday, August 10 where he was inspected the damages done to country fishing boats due to rough weather on the sea.

Speaking to media persons, Minister S Angara said that more than 60 boats were damaged along with loss of fishing nets and some engines due to natural calamity. He said, there was delay to visit the spot here due to heavy rainfall in own legislative constituency of Sullya of Dakshina Kannada district. There were heavy losses due to natural calamity in Sullya also.

He said that he already collected the damages done report from the district administration officials. Under natural calamities damages, he will discuss with the chief minister and try to provide reasonable compensation to fishermen.

There has been discussion on the problem of Kerosene for the fishermen. We will discuss in cabinet meeting and will try to resolve the same. He will also discuss in the state cabinet meeting in regard to various problems facing by the fishermen and will try maximum solution to the fishermen after discussing with officials and leaders of fishermen, he said.

During the visit along with the minister S Angara, local MLA B M Sukumar Shetty, ZP CEO Prasanha, Kundapur AC Raju, Fishing Asst Director Shivakumar, Sumalatha, Byndoor Tahasildar Kiran Gowrayya, Asst Tahsildar Bimappa H Billar, BJP District President Kuilady Suresh Nayak, Byndoor BJP Mandal President Deepak Kumar Shetty Shirroor, Taluk Panchayat member Pushpaaraj Shetty, Village Accountant Prakash Rathod, Uppunda Country Boats Fishermen Sangha President Anand Kharvi, Fishermen leaders Jaganath Mogaveera, Naveenchandra Uppunda, Nagaraj B H P and others were present.
