Byndoor : The cultural richness of the spiritual and religious base of the district should be introduced to the new generation and extended to the national level, Minister of State for Energy, Kannada and Culture V. Sunil Kumar said.

He was speaking on behalf of Byndur Taluk Administration while inaugurating the Silver Jubilee program of Udupi District at Naguru Sri Gopalakrishna Kalamandir on Sunday, September 25.

Compared to the development of the new districts announced in 1997, Udupi district is 20 years ahead and new innovation and business establishment should increase under the Startup India scheme. He said that for the development of the next 25 years, a blueprint should be prepared by the officials who have worked in the district in the past.

Everyone should forget all kinds of differences and unite for the development of the district. He said that Udupi district needs an airport, government medical college, agricultural college, ESI hospital and the development of public relations for the tourism sector.

Byndur MLA  B. M. Sukumar Shetty who presided over the programme and said that Rs 2,000 crore has been allocated for the development of Byndur constituency. He asserted the need for a government medical college in Udupi district under the emphasis of the government’s involvement in the construction of the airport. He said that the number of devotees and tourists is increasing and further development of basic facilities is required.
