‘Milagres College Alumni Association’ held its Annual General-body Meeting to re-elect the team led by Shekhar Gujjarbettu as its dynamic President.
As observed by many outsiders, the 56 years old Milagres College, Kallianpur is counted among few such reputed Institutions which have the one vibrant Ex Students Association.
An association registered under the Act, had around 275 registered and life members, held its AGM on Saturday, 12th November, 2022 in the Audio-visual Auditorium, at 3.00 pm. The Correspondent of Milagrean Educational Institutions and the Rector of the Cathedral V. Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca presided over the proceedings.
Ms Melvita DSouza gave the start with invoking Almighty’s blessings and President Shekar extended a warm and homely welcome to all gathered. Prof Sophia Dias, the Gen Secretary of the Association presented the crispy report of the previous year highlighting the activities both academic and sports with the help of generous contributions from its members. Alumnus Prof Karthik Nayak placed before the members the Audited Accounts of the Association and got it approved.

PRO of the Association Mr Ravinandan, who compeered the whole event meticulously had additional responsibilities to conduct the election of the office bearers under the leadership of Mr Shekar Gujjarbettu, which unanimously endorsed a second term to the existing team which has recorded a praise worthy job in the previous year.
Principal Dr Vincent Alva, expressed his heartfelt thanks and happiness to see Milagreans concern and love for their alma mater and announced that with the spontaneous support two great events are scheduled in December, 2022 viz on 4th December, 2022, A historic Get together of Mumbai – Maharashtra based old students in Thane and the Great Milagres Premium League (MPL Volley Ball Cup Tournament) on 22ND December, 2022.
V. Rev. Fr Valerian Mendonca, in his presidential address, congratulated the re-elected team of Shekar Gujjarbettu and expressed his satisfaction to observe various activities conducted during the last two years and wished them all success in their forthcoming terms. He took the occasion to thank two retired office staff too and wished them a happy retired life with family. While sharing his concerns of reduced demand for traditional courses in the College such as BA and BSc streams, the graduates of yester years, both far and near have a moral responsibility as the College ambassadors to spread a good word about the College, in the society as they were always doing this in the past.
Mr Shekar Gujjarbettu expressed his feelings and thanked the Management, Principal and all members present for keeping their trust in choosing them for a record third term and solicitude the support and cooperation from all and assured his best efforts to keep the Milagres flag flying high and its goodwill intact.
