On March 26, Suryodaya Ground transformed into a bustling coastal island as it hosted the Konkan Coastal Cup 2023. The cricket tournament saw the participation of more than 150 players and supporters, with Team Essential ultimately claiming victory as the champions. Team Jayanagar finished as the runners-up.

Fr. Dominic Bhardwaj, Director of Suryodaya Boys Centre, inaugurated the event, which featured 14 competing teams. Mr. Shaji T. Verghese, President of Christian Seva Sangh (R), praised the efforts in organizing the tournament, emphasizing the importance of channeling youthful energy into positive endeavors. Mr. Silvian Noronha, Chairman of the Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA Global), expressed his delight at the event’s success and assured FKCA’s continued support for future Konkan Sports Club (KSC) events.

Mr. Edward Anand D’souza commended the work of KSC and encouraged young participants to persevere in achieving their goals. Other notable attendees included Lion Joseph Walter Peris, Ex-President of Lions Club Gurpur-Kaikamba; Mr. Arun Fernandes, Mr. Charles Gomes, and Mr. Alvin Mendonca from FKCA Global; and Mr. Arun Xavier from Christian Seva Sangh.

Individual awards went to Jaison, who was named Best Batsman, and Alban, who took home both Best Bowler and Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. Lion Joseph Peris and James Miranda, Ex-President of SAKK Marathhalli, distributed the prizes.

Rayan Miranda, one of the event organizers from Neermarga, remarked, "The tournament was a tremendous success, and we are grateful to everyone involved." Moodubelle’s Roshan D’souza, another organizer, added, "Seeing the enthusiasm and talent on display today was inspiring. We look forward to continuing to foster a love for cricket in our community."

In addition to the cricket competition, a Karaoke Challenge was held, with Derick Machado and Anish K.J. taking home the top prizes. The Konkan Sports Club committee expressed its gratitude to all sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the success of the tournament.
