Mangaluru: University Evening College Celebrated 132nd Bharath Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanthi on 14th April 2023 at the Shivarama Karantha Bhavana.
Chief guest Dr. Vasudeva Belle, Principal, Government P U College, Mulki talked about the relevance of Ambedkar at present time. He opines that Ambedkar is a champion of human society who brings various constitutional rights and he is one of the significant person in post independence India to propose rights for women empowerment. He also argued that, the hegemonic caste discrimination in India hampered the progress of human society. Due to caste inferiority people are hesitate to identify themselves in common places. Finally, he urged us to join hands to safeguard constitution and democratic values.
Principal Dr. Lakshmidevi L. in her presidential talk expressed her gratitude towards Ambedkar and commemorate the struggle that Ambedkar had faced to bring constitutional rights for women in post independence India. Dr Jagadeesh B, the coordinator, Mcom and MBA IB was also present.
Akshatha of I BA composed the program, Ganesh and team of II BA invoked the prayer, Sushmitha of II BA welcomed the gathering, Nimitha of III BCom introduced the chief guest and K R Adithya of II BCom rendered the vote of thanks.
Teaching and non-teaching staff were present.
