Mount Rosary Church, Santhekatte – Kallianpur organise, FREE BONE DENSITY TEST CAMP, for two days – 10th and 11th August, 2023.
Catholic Sabah joined hands with pious organisations in ‘Health Commission’ of the parish , ‘Stree Sanghatan’ and ‘Lions Club Kallianpur – Swarna’ to offer two days free Bone Density Test Camp to the people in the surrounding, in the adjacent Mini Hall of the Church.
At 9.00 am a simple formal programme was held to inaugurate the campaign. Mrs Rosy Quadrus, the President of Catholic Sabah Mount Rosary Church, welcomed the team of specialist doctors and health workers along with other guests and participants.
Bone density test or DEXA scan determines, whether bone suffers from osteoporosis, a disorder characterised by bones that are more fragile and likely to break, calcium deficiency etc. Generally spine, hip and forearms – mineral content will be tested at the outset and T – score and Z score is derived.
Rev Dr. Roque DSouza, the parish priest lighted the lamp along with representatives of various organisers. In his address, emphasised the need of such regular tests and thanked the expert medical team and Lions Club, Kallianpur Swarna and others for their social concern, especially health care. He also informed today’s participants to spread a word of mouth in the neighbourhood as the camp will be continued for one more day i.e. tomorrow.
Among others, Mr Luke DSouza, Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Convenor of Health Commission Mr Louis DSouza, President of Stree Sanghatan Mrs Lavina DSouza were present.
Many people took the opportunity to avail the facilities offered at their door steps till 1.00 pm. Medicines were prescribed and few were recommended for further diagnosis, investigation and check-up in the Hospital.
