Print Kusuma Ravindra and Arun Fernandes elected as President and Vice President of Thonne (Kemmannu) Grama Panchayat.
Thonse/Kemmannu, Aug 17, 2023. Election was held for the President and Vice president posts of the Thonse (Kemmannu) Grama Panchayat on Aug 17, 2023. The District Collector appointed Mr. Shankar, District Manager, Ambedkar Development Corporation as the Designated Officer for the selection process accordingly he conducted the selection process today.
Both those elected were Congress supporters, with reservation quota for a scheduled caste woman and the vice president for a general category.
In the selection process held in the Gram Panchayat which has 21 members, one nomination paper was submitted for the post of president and vice president. After checking it, the officer held a meeting of the elected representatives and announced that it was an uncontested election.
Arun Fernandes, who was elected as the Vice President, had served as the Vice President in the previous term as well.
Mr. Nithyananda Kemmannu, who was elected as the Vice President in the previous term, passed away within a few months of his election.
Many congress leaders like Ramesh Kanchan, President Udupi Block Congress, Prakyath Shetty, Vice President, District Congress, Raghram Shetty, President Paduthone Grameena Congress, KPCC penalist, Mrs. Veronica Cornelio, Mr. Ganesh Nergi President SC Wing, Udupi Block Congress, Mr. Rahamthulla, Ex-Taluk Panchayat Member, Mr. Suresh Shetty, Bannanje, President Udupi Block Rajiv Ghadhi Panchayat Raj, Party leaders, ex-presidents and members were present and wished the newly elected with garlands and banquets.

ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತೆ ಇರುವುದೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ನೆಲೆಸುವರು!
ಕೆಮ್ಮಣ್ಣಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವರ್ಣ ನದಿಯ ಹಳೆ ಸೇತುವೆ ಮುರಿದು ಬಿದ್ದು ವರ್ಷಗಳೇ ಕಳೆದು ನದಿ ಪರಿಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿ ಉಂಟಾಗಿದೆ. ಮುರಿದು ನದಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಸೇತುವೆಯನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ!
ಪಡುಕುದ್ರು, ಮುದಲ ಕಟ್ಟ, ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿನ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳು ಅಗಲ ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಾಗ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರ ಹೊಡೆದಾಟವೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಿರಿದಾದ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ವಾಹನಗಳು ದಾಟಿಹೊಗಲು ಅಸಾಧ್ಯ ವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ!ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ವಾಹನಗಳು ಗದ್ದೆಗೆ ಉರುಳಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿವೆ! ರಸ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಅಗಲಗೊಳಿಸಿ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ತಲೆದೋರಬಹುದ ಆದಷ್ಟು ಬೇಗನೆ ಆರೂರಿನಿ, ಹೇರೂರು ಆಣೆಕಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಕೊಳವೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಮೂಡುತೋನ್ಸೆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ತರಿಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ! ನಾಡಿನ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಭಗವಂತನು ಶಾಂತಿ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಲಿ ಸರ್ವೇ ಜನ ಸುಖಿನೋ ಭವಂತು.
