CATHOLIC SABHA, Kallianpur Varado - Conducts Deanery level Elocution Competition in Konkani & Kannada.

‘One of the visible qualities of a good leader is good communication skill and effective public speaking’ the President of the Catholic Sabah Kallianpur Varado Mr Louis DSouza opined. He was extending a warm welcome to all the deanery level Elocution participants who qualified and elevated to next stage as they were the winners in their respective parishes. About 100 young speakers in two languages i.e. in Konkani and Kannada assembled in the Mount Rosary English Medium High School at 3.00 pm on Sunday, 1st October, 2023.

For the convenience of the organisers as well as participants the competition was held at two venues in the same building – Konkani and Kannada in four categories with pre-set topics. Six judges were authorised to evaluate the presentation and performances, viz Mrs Shanthi Pereira, Byndoor, Mr Lawrence DSa, Udyavar, Mr Raphael DSouza, Perampally, Mr Godfrey DSouza, Udyavar, Mrs Sheila Castelino Udupi and Mrs Irene Pereira, Udyavar – who truly had a tough time, to select the winners!!

During the prize distribution the General Secretary of the CS KV, Mr Archibald Furtado, congratulated all the participants for their enthusiasm and parents and elders for their encouragement and moral support. All the learned judges were thanked and felicitated with roses for their valuable time and patience. On this occasion, Mr Alphonse DSilva and Mrs Jacintha Nazareth too were recognised for their special services.

President Designate CS KV– Mrs Rosy Quadros, who was the Convenor of the competitions, proposed vote of thanks for all, making the event a great success with active participation and support and wished all success in the next level at Diocesan level.

It was truly a long wait for young participants to know the final results and the names were announced with thunderous round of applause to cheer the winners as Mr Archibald Furtado called out the names and Cash prizes and Certificates were presented by the President CS KV Mr Louis DSouza.

President and the Office bearers, Catholic Sabah Kallianpur Varado remain indebted to Parish priest of Mt Rosary Church Rev Dr Roque DSouza, Head Mistress Sr Ancilla DMello for allowing to utilize the space, our spiritual Director V. Rev Fr Valerian Mendonca, for his guidance, the local MRC unit of Catholic Sabah for their cooperation, all nine CS Units of the Deanery and specially all children and their parents, respective parish priests of all nine Churches, trainers, teachers. Treasurer CS – KV, Mr G Urban Lewis and Mrs Celine Colaco and others were present to supervise the event to be arranged meticulously.
