The 68th Kannada Rajhotsava held with pomp and grandeur at Udupi Ajjarkad Grounds

Udupi, November 01 : The 68th district level Kannada Rajyotsava Day program was held today at Ajjarakadu Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium in the city on behalf of District Level Kannada Rajyotsava Acharana Committee Udupi District. District In-charge Minister Lakshmi R Hebbalkar performed the flag hoisting and gave the message of Karnataka Rajyotsava.

 

After hoisting Kannada flag Lakshmi R Hebbalkar said that happy Kannada Rajyotsav to all of them on this occasion of 50 years of naming Karnataka. Kannada Nadu had its borders from Kaveri to Godavari River along Kaviraja Marga, the first work of Kannada. The perfect concept of Kannada Nadu with a history of more than two thousand years is positive arose.

She said that with the renaming of Karnataka on November 01, 1973 as a result of the efforts of Devaraja Urs, former chief minister , this our land has been a testament to the 50 springs of emotional bonding of the Kannadigas.

      Though geographically diverse, Kannada Nadu has maintained communal unity. The sweetness of Kannada language has been sung and praised by many vachanakaras, dasas, poets. Nandalike Lakshminarayan, Gulwadi Venkatarayar, K. Shivarama Karantha, Havanje Lakshminarayanappaiah, Hattiangadi Narayanrayar, Airodi Shivaramaiah, Mogeri Gopalakrishna Adiga, Kadekaru Rajagopalakrishnaraya, S.U Paniyadi, Koradkal Srinivasa Rao, Pavem Acharya, Gururaja Bhat, Matapadi Rajagopalachar. The contribution of this district to the fields of literature, culture and music is unique.

 

The contribution of the district is also immense in the way of building and preserving the Kannada language. In those days when the state was divided, Bengal Rama Raya, Kota Shivaram Karanta, Panje Mangesharaya and other elders went to different parts of the Kannada country and sounded the Kannada trumpet all over the state, she said.

 

 

Among the 62 Jnanapeeth Awards, which were awarded from 1965 to 2022, for works of international quality published in Indian literature and promoting national dignity, eight writers who created creative literature in Kannada have been awarded this honor, and Kannada is second in the award list, she said.

She said that the youth community of the country has the responsibility to save and grow the Kannada culture. If language is to develop a new spirit and grow, it can only be done by the youth community. It is possible only if young people use Kannada in their daily life.

There is not only Kannada language in our district. There are local dialects like Tulu, Konkani, Byari etc. We have never thought of all these as different. In this Accha Kannada district, we took anyone as "Ivanarava Ivanarava Ennade" as Anna Basavanna said, "Iva Nammava - Iva Nammava".

Due to natural upheavals, more than 220 taluks of the state do not receive regular rains and the shadow of rain is not coming. Task forces will be created at the taluk level and drought management will be initiated. Our farmers should emphasize on water conservation, rain harvesting, water re-conservation and forest conservation.

Shakti Yojana has given a boost to the empowerment of women and the country, benefiting an average of 50 to 60 lakh women every day.

 Up to 200 units of free electricity is being provided to each household through Grihajyoti. So far 1.49 crore customers have registered under the scheme and are getting free electricity.

Currently 1.04 crore families are getting cash benefit in lieu of 5 kg of rice under Annabhagya Yojana. Steps are being taken to transfer money to the rest of the families soon.

Through Grilahakshmi Yojana monthly Rs. 2000 is being registered to transfer money to family owners, the scheme was launched on August 30. Already 1.08 crore household owners have registered under the scheme.

2000 is given under Grilahakshmi Yojana. Monthly subsidy facility has also been approved for gender minorities.

3,000 for graduates and 1500 rupees for those who have received diploma, the Yuvanidhi scheme, which is intended to provide unemployment allowance, will come into effect 6 months after the end of the academic year 2022-23.

Due to the amendment made to the PTCL Act for the upliftment of the exploited classes, there is no time limit for filing complaints against illegal appropriation of land allotted to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Many schemes including Krishi Bhagya Anugrah Yojana, Vidyasiri, scholarship for minority students, which were suspended for the past few years, have been continued.

At a cost of Rs. 40 crore across the state 4,000 gram panchayats, nursing home child care centers have been opened with the objective of taking care of the children of the rural laborers.

At a cost of Rs. 25 crores to build 100 village courts in the state approved for installation. A total of 110 sewage treatment plants under the NGT Environmental Relief Fund in urban local bodies with population less than 30,000 will be set up at a cost of Rs 400 crore. Administrative approval has been given to construct at cost.

If the normal rainfall in the year is 4418 mm, but this year 3332 mm has been rained as lack of rain is 25%. Already, Karkala and Hebri taluks have been declared as full drought prone and Brahmavar taluk as moderate drought prone taluk. Damage to paddy crop is estimated at Rs 11.85 crore. A proposal has been submitted to the government to provide relief grants.

The district administration has been instructed to ensure that there is no drinking water problem in the coming summer, and tenders have been called for removing the silt from the Baje Dam. Works on drinking water project from Varahi are suggested to be completed in February. Even the common people should start using water sparingly.

There are 3,67,343 electricity household users in the district, out of which 306,106 consumers have registered for Griha Jyoti Yojana and a total discount of Rs 34.82 crore has been given for the month of August-September, which has been borne by the state government. So far 2.13 lakh beneficiaries have been registered in the district under the Griha Lakshmi scheme and Rs 40.67 crore has been deposited in the account of 1.77 lakh beneficiaries. Deposit money 88 percent has been achieved.

Among the stills that participated in the Kannada Rajyotsava Day parade, the Forest Department of Karnataka state got the first position and the Agriculture Department got the second position. In the team of college students who participated in the procession, Girls’ Pre-Graduation College, Udupi got the first position, Ulakadu Government Union High School got the second position and Udupi Government High School (Board High School) got the third position.

14 contingents from various departments and schools and colleges participated in the marchfast, NCC Novel Department Purnaprajna College of the College Division won first place, NCC Novel Department MGM College second place, NCC Army Department Purnaprajna College took second place. The college was ranked third. In the primary high school category, Government Senior Primary School Santhekatte Kalathur got first position, Government High School Avarse got second position, St Cecilia’s High School Udupi got third position.

In the cultural programme, Government High School Olakadu has bagged the first position and Narayan Guru English Medium School has bagged the second position.

29 individuals and 5 organizations who have achieved in various fields and who have been selected for the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award for the current year district level were honored. Before the program, the Women and Child Development, Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens Department and District In-charge Minister Lakshmi R Hebbalkar started the procession of Bhubaneswari Devi which took place from Board High School to Ajjarakadu Mahatma Gandhi District Stadium.
